Welcome Home to Loretto!

Welcome! Our Communities are Open to New Residents.

We are excited to welcome new residents to our Loretto communities. Our admissions teams are ready to answer your questions and show you around! You are invited to tour any of our communities, either in-person or virtually. New residents are not obligated to quarantine prior to moving in. And once you move in, you’re free to come and go in the community as you wish, and have visitors, as permitted by state regulatory requirements.

Friends and Families are welcome – what to know about visitation.

Family and friends are a vital part of our residents’ lives, and there’s nothing that can replace visiting a loved one in person. Now, friends and family are welcome to visit their loved ones at our communities, as state and local restrictions allow. Visits may be outside or inside the community, but ask before visiting as the restrictions vary by facility, including limits on number of visitors and length of your visit. Visiting hours are in place, and must be observed.

You will need to follow CDC guidelines, observe social distancing, and wear masks when required. And, you will be screened when you arrive at one of our Accushield kiosks. We strongly encourage all visitors to be vaccinated to ensure the continued safely of our residents and staff.

Visiting Our Skilled Nursing & Short-Term    Rehabilitation Communities

UPDATED: January 13, 2022

As you are aware, the New York State Governor Kathy Hochul issued an executive order to all nursing homes in the state with more restrictions on family visitation during this COVID surge. These requirements have been confirmed by the New York State Department of Health [DOH] and we have communicated some important changes to visitation to our family members as follows:

MASKS REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES

Visitors can no longer allow the use of cloth masks. All visitors must have a well-fitted paper mask or KN95 mask [preferred]. If a visitor does not have a mask, a disposable mask will be provided.

When visiting the facility, visitors are required to maintain 6 feet of social distancing from ALL Loretto staff and residents other than the loved one you are visiting. If visitors do not comply, they may be asked to leave. Visitors must also wear masks properly [over nose and mouth] at ALL times when visiting. Masks cannot be removed during visit, even when the visitor and the resident are fully vaccinated.

NEGATIVE TEST REQUIRED TO VISIT

Proof of a negative COVID test is now REQUIRED for all visitors to Loretto nursing homes. Visitors are expected to arrange for testing and bring proof of a negative rapid test within 24 hours or a PCR test within 48 hours. If someone visits daily, negative test results are required every 72 hours. Loretto will not have the capability to do on-site testing at this time. For information on getting tested in Onondaga County, direct families to go to: https://covid19.ongov.net/appointments/

When visitors arrive, they will check-in at our kiosk, and must answer the questions to confirm your negative test results, as well as sign an attestation on the kiosk confirming their responses are truthful. We also encourage them to take a photo of their negative test with date and have available on their phones to share in the event it is requested upon arrival.

With the continued high percentage of positivity rates in the county, we must all be diligent with following infection control protocols and understand visitation could be changed at any time in the event of an outbreak. Visitors are asked to sanitize your hands before and after visits, from the lobby entrance use the elevators to go directly to your resident’s room, and not to travel to any other areas of the building at any time. If a visitor is not feeling well, or has been exposed to someone with COVID, even if vaccinated, we have asked them to delay their visit to protect our residents and staff.
